Where are we going? I heard you asking. We are going to Brazil to visit family and to travel through South America. We are planning to go not only to Brazil, but to Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Equador, Chile and Uruguay. In fact we are starting with 10 days in a nice apartment Buenos Aires, Argentina.

When we are leaving? We are leaving on the 15th of November. So now on the 1st of November we are moving out and we will stay with Tati, Matthias and the kids for two weeks.

We are all looking forward to this journey, with us, will be our neighbours and friends Helen and Peter who will be landing in South America for the first time, they are more excited them us because for them it is not just a new place but a new language. We have been teaching them Portuguese and they are doing well and I hope that after one year they will be able to have a conversation with a local in Brazil.

You can expect to hear from us more often on this blog and also on my facebook where I will be posting some pictures of our trip.

The test is really easy. I have read the book twice and I got 19 questions right out of 20. The only questions that I got wrong was about the Mabo decision. I didn’t know what was it. It was in the book, so I probably read it, but I couldn’t remember.

If you don’t know what is the Mabo decision  and so I can never forget it again, here it is:

“Mabo decision restored unsold land to Aboriginal people if they had maintained their traditional ties to it.”

I am living in Australia since March 2004 and it was a long way for me since I first got here. As many of you my Portuguese readers might remember from my post on “Perdido pelo Mundo” I came here to study English for 4 months then decide to extend my visa to study IT and at the same time got a part time job in IT too.

The year of 2006 was a great year I met my wife, I finished school I got my sponsor I got married. It was full of great things, the best year of my life so far.

Now 2007 is going to be the year that we became Australian Permanent Resident. And we are very happy to be part of this nation.

But besides of this big number, I think I have a lot of stuff to celebrate. I like to think about the fact that I crossed the world I am here surviving and very happy, of course.

You can view clearly on this picture my reason to be happy, and I am not talking about the cake. My wife, that is always with me and it is my company and my friend for all times and she knows it.
