This year I have seem the Sydney Harbour fireworks for the third time. This time we went to the Manly North Head, the view wasn’t as great as the photo below but we could see all the six fireworks spots. A very nice vantage point and not so crowded, you can walk in 5 minutes before the midnight and still find a place to have a good view of the fireworks.

Our new home

This is our new place in Artarmon. It is a two bedroom unit on the second floor of a ten units building. I am getting everything in place for when Gabi comes back from Brazil.

Good to be back

I was back in Australia on the 10th of November. It was very good to be back. I got I warm welcome as soon as I wakeup in the next morning. Here is a picture of everybody on their pyjamas, including me.

Packing and leaving

We are packing and leaving for one entire year. Next Monday we will be putting our stuff in a container that will stay stored for a whole year.

Where are we going? I heard you asking. We are going to Brazil to visit family and to travel through South America. We are planning to go not only to Brazil, but to Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Equador, Chile and Uruguay. In fact we are starting with 10 days in a nice apartment Buenos Aires, Argentina.

When we are leaving? We are leaving on the 15th of November. So now on the 1st of November we are moving out and we will stay with Tati, Matthias and the kids for two weeks.

We are all looking forward to this journey, with us, will be our neighbours and friends Helen and Peter who will be landing in South America for the first time, they are more excited them us because for them it is not just a new place but a new language. We have been teaching them Portuguese and they are doing well and I hope that after one year they will be able to have a conversation with a local in Brazil.

You can expect to hear from us more often on this blog and also on my facebook where I will be posting some pictures of our trip.

One special visit

My mom is here visiting us and she is loving Sydney. We are taking her around the city and showing her someone of the Sydney’s famous spots.

She is very impressed with the city’s beauty specially the flowers at this time of the year (spring). She will stay with us for one month and she is preparing some of my favourite dishes like the Parmigiana Eggplant.

We have been to the Opera House to see a play called Our Town. Although mom doesn’t speak English she have chosen this play for a reason. In 1967 (ten year before I was born) she played this play at school. She loved to watched it and Gabi and I liked it a lot too.

Next week we are going to Opera House again, this time we will see a music concert at the Opera House’s Concert Hall. We are also planning to go to the Blue Mountains. There is a lot to see in Sydney and it’s surroundings I hope we will have time to cover the lot.

Gabi is another aussie now!

Gabi got her Australian citizenship on 30th of June. The ceremony was really nice and Gabi and I were really happy. Here are some pictures.

Last June 15th was my birthday and we celebrated if not only one cake but with three different cakes. See some of the pictures bellow.

Last month, on 26 of April it was Thomas birthday. Thomas picked his best mates to celebrate his birthday at the park. Tati prepared a very nice birthday with a great selection of food, nice and health fruits for the kids. The kids has lots of balloons to play with and a gift bag to take home together with there favorites wild animal that were decorating the cupcakes.

Australian Citizenship and Passport

On 4th of March I have became an Australian citizen. The ceremony was at the Mosman Art Gallery and there were approximately another 50 people there with me to become a citizen. It was a simple but nice and emotional ceremony, we all did our pledge to the Australia’s values.

I also have applied for the passport. I have taken some pictures to share with you.

At the ceremony I had the pleasure of having my wife Gabi and my neighbours and friends Peter and Helen, it was a wonderful evening. After the ceremony we went to the New Orleans Cafe in Crows Nest for dinner.

I am now the new Aussie on the block!

Last 18th February, Gabi and I went to see the AC/DC show. It was really good. We love it. It is amazing to see the amount of energy that the band still have after all this years on the road. The photo below I still from my friend Ale who was with us just a few meters away.
