Thomas is five

On the last 26th of April Thomas turned five years old. So today, Tati and Matthias organized a party at Brightmore Reserve where the kids can ride their bikes on a kids bike track. A face painting artist was there too and all the kids got nice and colorful paintings. It was a really nice day that I am sure Thomas will remember for a long time.

Delicious Sunday’s lunch

Today Gabi prepared a delicious lasagna for us. Tati, Anna and Thomas joined us for a delicious Sunday’s lunch. After the lasagna we had Ice Cream and Chocolate Ganache Pie that was absolutely amazing.

After lunch Thomas and I played Tower Blocks and Feeding Frenzy 2 on XBox, we had lots of fun. Thomas (only 4 years and 10 months) have a very good control on the XBox controller.

Our new home

This is our new place in Artarmon. It is a two bedroom unit on the second floor of a ten units building. I am getting everything in place for when Gabi comes back from Brazil.

I was back in Australia on the 10th of November. It was very good to be back. I got I warm welcome as soon as I wakeup in the next morning. Here is a picture of everybody on their pyjamas, including me.

My grandma’s birthday

My grandmother Anna turned 86 years old the past Friday (07/10) and my parents organized a family lunch on Sunday. We took the opportunity to take some pictures.

Planning the return

Oh well. It is almost time to go back to Australia. The year off has been great but we are also looking forward to go back to Sydney. We started to have a look on Domain for housing. Since Tati and Matthias have moved to Forestville our target area is around this region.

Some plan changes happened again and I will be going back by myself on the 9th of November (arriving in Australia on the 10th) and Gabi will return just in January since she is staying to wait for Tati and the kids that are coming to spend Christmas over here. I will miss my sweetheart a lot but I hope that she can have a wonderful time with her parents.

First birthday with my parents and my brother and sister since 7 years. We went to a Pizza place close to their place and we had a really nice time. Nice way to celebrate 34 years of life.

Last 2nd of March was my mom’s birthday. My brother, my sister and I took her and daddy for dinner. Here is a picture.

Packing and leaving

We are packing and leaving for one entire year. Next Monday we will be putting our stuff in a container that will stay stored for a whole year.

Where are we going? I heard you asking. We are going to Brazil to visit family and to travel through South America. We are planning to go not only to Brazil, but to Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Equador, Chile and Uruguay. In fact we are starting with 10 days in a nice apartment Buenos Aires, Argentina.

When we are leaving? We are leaving on the 15th of November. So now on the 1st of November we are moving out and we will stay with Tati, Matthias and the kids for two weeks.

We are all looking forward to this journey, with us, will be our neighbours and friends Helen and Peter who will be landing in South America for the first time, they are more excited them us because for them it is not just a new place but a new language. We have been teaching them Portuguese and they are doing well and I hope that after one year they will be able to have a conversation with a local in Brazil.

One special visit

My mom is here visiting us and she is loving Sydney. We are taking her around the city and showing her someone of the Sydney’s famous spots.

She is very impressed with the city’s beauty specially the flowers at this time of the year (spring). She will stay with us for one month and she is preparing some of my favourite dishes like the Parmigiana Eggplant.

We have been to the Opera House to see a play called Our Town. Although mom doesn’t speak English she have chosen this play for a reason. In 1967 (ten year before I was born) she played this play at school. She loved to watched it and Gabi and I liked it a lot too.

Next week we are going to Opera House again, this time we will see a music concert at the Opera House’s Concert Hall. We are also planning to go to the Blue Mountains. There is a lot to see in Sydney and it’s surroundings I hope we will have time to cover the lot.
