The year starting with us hitting the road. On the 12th of January we flew to Santiago in Chile. We spend three days there and got to know around the city and have some delicious fish in Santiago’s Central Market. We also visited Val Paraiso and Vina del Mar coast side cities outside Santiago.
We left Santiago to go to Mendoza and we did that by traveling through the Andes by Bus. The trip took around 6 hours and the mountain views are quite unique. Mendoza itself it is not a attracted city but it has the wineries that you can visit. Also the tours and activities are quite nice we did paragliding, house ridding, bike tours through the wineries, rappel and hot springs (this last one wasn’t that nice has it sounds).
After 5 days in Mendoza we head down to Bariloche. Bariloche is a very cute and nice city with charming houses, hotels, restaurants and chocolate/ice cream shops. We took the time to explore the beautiful nature around Bariloche, since Bariloche is a ski town in the winter, summer is a good time to do walkings and visit the glaciers, parks and lakes without the snow.
Below are some pictures of this part of our trip.

In December we have been spending a wonderful time in Brazil with my family and Gabi’s parent.
Right now I am with my family where we had Christmas and tomorrow is the New Year. Gabi is with her family around 400 kms from where I am. We will be reunited in a few days.
BTW I hope everyone had a good Christmas and I wish you and your family a Happy New Year. Below is the picture of the house at Gabi’s parent farm that we are staying.

After leaving Australia on the 15th of November and had some road blocks we arrived in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I like Buenos Aires, it has a beautiful architecture in some parts of the city, it has good restaurants, it is easy to travel around by subway and cheap to travel by taxi.
What I didn’t like about Buenos Aires was the dog poop on the walk side, I don’t know what is wrong with these dog owners but they definitely don’t pick up after their dogs. I should have taken a picture of the “mine field” so you guys would see what I am talking about. Anyway below are some pictures from Buenos Aires.

We are packing and leaving for one entire year. Next Monday we will be putting our stuff in a container that will stay stored for a whole year.
Where are we going? I heard you asking. We are going to Brazil to visit family and to travel through South America. We are planning to go not only to Brazil, but to Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Equador, Chile and Uruguay. In fact we are starting with 10 days in a nice apartment Buenos Aires, Argentina.
When we are leaving? We are leaving on the 15th of November. So now on the 1st of November we are moving out and we will stay with Tati, Matthias and the kids for two weeks.
We are all looking forward to this journey, with us, will be our neighbours and friends Helen and Peter who will be landing in South America for the first time, they are more excited them us because for them it is not just a new place but a new language. We have been teaching them Portuguese and they are doing well and I hope that after one year they will be able to have a conversation with a local in Brazil.
You can expect to hear from us more often on this blog and also on my facebook where I will be posting some pictures of our trip.

My mom is here visiting us and she is loving Sydney. We are taking her around the city and showing her someone of the Sydney’s famous spots.
She is very impressed with the city’s beauty specially the flowers at this time of the year (spring). She will stay with us for one month and she is preparing some of my favourite dishes like the Parmigiana Eggplant.
We have been to the Opera House to see a play called Our Town. Although mom doesn’t speak English she have chosen this play for a reason. In 1967 (ten year before I was born) she played this play at school. She loved to watched it and Gabi and I liked it a lot too.
Next week we are going to Opera House again, this time we will see a music concert at the Opera House’s Concert Hall. We are also planning to go to the Blue Mountains. There is a lot to see in Sydney and it’s surroundings I hope we will have time to cover the lot.

I have been reading for a while about fruit and vegetable juices and I have purchased a book on the topic called 7lbs in 7 days. It sounds like a diet programme, and in fact it is but that is not the reason I am doing it.
The reason I decide to do it is because I read here that a diet based on fruits and vegetable juices can help clear the skin for patients with psoriasis, so I am giving it a try.
I got through the 7 days very easily, I remember getting a bit hungry on the first day only. And I lost 2.35 kg in one week. My skin seems the same, no improvements after the 7 days.
After I finished the 7 days juicing I started a raw food diet where I am eating just raw food, lots of fruits, green salads and nuts. I must tell I am impressed how well you can feel just by eating raw food.
Today is the end of the third week (1 week just juice, 2 weeks raw food) and I will start tomorrow another week on juices. There are 5 juices a day and with the help of a juice like this I juice pineapples, apples, carrot, beetroot, spinach, ginger and a few more type of greens. All the juices, except one which has no apples and only green leafs, are delicious.
The food diet together with the light therapy that I started a couple of weeks ago is starting cleaning my skin and I am happy with the improvements.
Ah! I almost forgot, we watched the FoodMatters documentary last week and it was really interesting I do recommend everyone that is looking into eating more organic and healthy food to watch this video documentary.
Gabi got her Australian citizenship on 30th of June. The ceremony was really nice and Gabi and I were really happy. Here are some pictures.

Last month, on 26 of April it was Thomas birthday. Thomas picked his best mates to celebrate his birthday at the park. Tati prepared a very nice birthday with a great selection of food, nice and health fruits for the kids. The kids has lots of balloons to play with and a gift bag to take home together with there favorites wild animal that were decorating the cupcakes.
